Name: Donna Kobielak on Dec 1, 2012Comments: I cant believe this has been considered. At times it is hard to get to see your own GP and time can be against you with some illnesses, the GP walk in centre allows you to get seen quicker and diagnosed quicker or referred to the correct people/dept.'s to benefit your recovery without taking up an unnecessary place in an A&E department.Flag

Name: Sharon Rawlingson on Dec 1, 2012Comments: This is a ridiculous proposal. This walk-in centre serves not only Ilkeston but also the surrounding towns and villages. Since Nottingham closed the Sapleford walk-in last year I've reied on Ilkeston for its services when my children or myself has had a health problem, that was too minor to attend A+E and needed seeing to asap when I couldn't get a GP appointment for over a week!Flag

Comments: I really cant believe that this has been targeted for closure. There is no sense in such a decision or any logic to it. Some people already struggle to get to their own GP from time to time for many reasons such as timed medication, lack of transport and poor mobility etc so use this service. It also helps with more serious/ emergency matters and helps spaces remain free in accident & emergency departments for more urgent cases.Flag -

Name: Michelle Kightley-Bryan on Dec 1, 2012Comments: I've used the walk in centre a few times now with my Daughter. Extremely convient when you can't get an appointment at your own GP surgery or when the surgery's closed. We've had an out of hours appointment in the past & the staff were so helpful. Would be a shame if it was to close.Flag

Name: Kathleen Dickens on Dec 1, 2012Comments: Over the last 10 years and with all the new builds that have sprung up around the area, Ilkeston has now developed into a BIG community. With all those extra people, I think a service like the drop in one at the hospital is vital, as not everyone has the means to drive themselves, or the money for private transport to get to Nottingham or Derby. Not only would that involve extra travelling time, but with those hospitals having to serve an even larger area, the waiting time is also going to increase. This will only add to to causing extra possible stress to the child, adult, or elderly person in need of attention. I just wish those people who are thinking of axing this service, would just consider those future patients who may be in need of it.. Yours sincerely.. Kath DickensFlag
