Name: Sarah W on Dec 12, 2012Comments: How can you close the only reliable GP in Ilkeston? As a driver its also very close for me to walk to. If I have to move to Littlewick or elsewhere then it will be a 45 minute walk from my house just to the GP and I don't want to have to do that if I'm ill!!Flag

Name: Hilary Lambert on Dec 12, 2012Comments: I am appalled that this move has been taken without any consultation with the community this practice serves. The doctors and practice staff provide a vital service 12 hours a day, 365 days a year. I moved from a practice where the only appointments available were 'emergency', phone on the day appointments, anything else was weeks in advance or not at all because they weren't allowed to book appointments that far ahead. At Ilkeston Family Practice I found a practice which was efficient, caring and 'open for patients' when they need to see someone. I am devastated this service is being removed and feel so sorry for all the lovely staff who have been given this news out of the blue and just before Christmas. I sincerely hope the PCT will listen to the people of Ilkeston and look again at their decision which I believe to be very ill-considered.Flag

Name: Nigel Lambert on Dec 12, 2012Comments: The staff and doctors at Ilkeston Family Practice are fantastic, they are caring above and beyond and make every patient feel safe and cared for. If I had still been registered with my previous GP there is a very good chance I would no longer be on this earth or that I would have endured a 999 ambulance ride and a considerably more frightening experience. Because I felt able, due to the open nature of Ilkeston Family Practice and because a doctor was available all day I was referred immediately when he spotted how sick I was. I know I would not have been able to access this type of care at my previous practice. SAVE ILKESTON FAMILY PRACTICEFlag

Name: Anne Trueman on Dec 12, 2012Comments: We really need to keep this great service, we can never get an appointment at the doctors surgery, and workers are penalised for taking time off during work hours so the centre is great for after work hours, lets fight to save it.Flag

Name: Paul Catling on Dec 13, 2012Comments: This is an incredibly important service which I have used for the 'out of hours' doctors facility. If the NHS are considering the cost then maybe the service could be reduced to cover the times when the normal GP practices are closed i.e. evenings & weekends.Flag
