Name: Jereme Hardy on Apr 11, 2012Comments: The Haleiwa Farmer's Market is the only place to get fresh local produce within a reasonable driving distance from Wahiawa. Farmer's markets are the only way to get fresh produce on the islands, as most of the grocery store produce comes from California, Mexico, Nicaragua, and even further. For the sake of our local economy, businesses, farmers, and the health of our community, please allow the Haleiwa Farmer's Market continue to operate until a new agreement can be made.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Apr 11, 2012Comments: I am from Australia and have been looking forward to going to the Haleiwa Farmer's Market for a very long time. It's the only reason I am going to visit/stay in the North Shore of Oahu when I go to Hawaii in 2 weeks. I don't understand how anyone can even think to destroy such a fantastic Community project that brings people together, brings tourists to Hawaii and helps the locals survive. Please do not destroy something so wonderful and stop future generations from benefiting from and enjoying it. If you go ahead with it, it will be something you would have to live with forever. That may not affect you now. Someday it will. Someday it may be your child, or niece or nephew who needs somewhere like this market to help them earn a living, and because of you, it won't be there to support them.Flag

Comments: Hale'iwa Farmers' Market provides a necessary and useful service to the community. It provides an outlet for my family to buy local and fresh produce from the farmers, it allows me to educate my children about how food is grown and talk to the farmers about it.Flag -

Name: Virginia Abshier MD on Apr 11, 2012Comments: this is the best community farmer's market on the north shore. it serves as a source for community members to help each other with their services and talents as well as a way for us to commune. it's insane to take this away from the community. we thrive on our association. i don't want to buy from SAFEWAY or DISCOUNT MART. i want to buy from from neighbors! i've been very impressed with how successful this particular farmer's market has been. can not imagine what the advantage to anyone would be to shut it down. does the county/city think they are going to do something more productive with this land!?!? mahalo, virginia abshier, md ali'i beach medical groupFlag

Name: Kristen McDonald on Apr 11, 2012Comments: This is a great venue, a fantastic resource for the community. If it was ok month to month for the last two years, it should continue to be ok. Please don't waste tax payer dollars legislating something that BENEFITS the community. Focus elsewhere, solve all the problems, then worry about nitpicking positive influences in the community.Flag
