After 31 years Great American Cookies is being forced out of the Jacksonville Mall. Even though there are over 3 and a half years remaining on the current lease, the landlord of the mall (Preit) is forcing them to leave because they can charge more rent to a new tenant. In spite of the fact that the current owner of this store still owes over $80,000 on the small business loan he used to purchase this store, he has been told to 'vacate the premises on or before December 23, 2012!'
