Here at Loughbrough Goldrush Cheerleaders we have encountered a problem. Currently our university is going through a major rebrand to unify all sports teams, the aim of the rebrand is to get bigger and better sponsors and allow the whole University to be under a single banner while preserving Loughborough's heritage. This means the Goldrush amongst other sports teams such the Aces American football team and Loughborough Lightening Netball will be no longer. Meaning from here onwards they would like us to be known as the Loughborough Students Cheerleading Club. Over the last 20 years the Goldrush name, history and reputation has been built up by hard working athletes and coaches. I urge you to help us keep our name or even allow a compromise because Goldrush are about to be wiped from existence. In cheerleading our names are our identity and this is about to be taken from us. Please email us and sign the petition to show your support and to allow us to continue competing under the name Goldrush as many athletes have done before us.
