Name: Jennifer Sweeney on Oct 23, 2012Comments: It is a shame that instead of continuing to find ways to supplement the kids learning experiences we are continually taking trips like this one away. It is a wonderful learning opportunity that every student in the district deserves to enjoy! The administrations reasoning on this makes absolutely no sense.Flag

Name: Carolyn Pisani on Oct 23, 2012Comments: Give me a break!!! The kids needs these out of classroom trips. They tried to cancel this when my son was in 3rd grade because one of teachers was complainging that the day ended past the terms of his contract. Send him out into the real world and see if his "real world" boss has sympathy for him.Flag

Name: Deborah Mendel on Oct 24, 2012Comments: My daughters are in MS now, but I think the field trip was invaluable as it gave them more than just a text book view of history. I am sad that the MFA trip was also pulled - I see more advantages of bringing that back in the MS level for 8th grade World History, as it covers that period. of renaissance. These key trips are vital to this age group to tie them to what they are learning.Flag

Name: Jack Petropoulos on Oct 24, 2012Comments: This sounds like it should be continued. I am in support of having every 3rd grader have the benefit of this direct exposure. I would however like to hear the argument for discontinuing the trip.Flag

Name: Suzanne Nobrega Prestia on Oct 24, 2012Comments: This is THE ONLY elementary field trip that DIRECTLY aligns with curriculum standards and enriches student learning. Kids touch, hear, smell, see the setting and events of the time period. Eliminate the trip the library to allow this one!!Flag
