Governor Rick Scott and the Secretary of the Department of Corrections are currently trying to cut the budget on Re-Entry programs. These programs are vital in the rehabilitation and reacclimation of the inmates being released into socicity. There first step is to start.closing down all Bridges in Florida (Drug Treatment Center). As of right now about 85% of all inmates return to prison. This is greatly due to the fact of lack of re-entry progams. I feel that more money should be allocated for this. I have been out of prison for a little over a year. And it was a program called Horizon communities in prison that changed whole life. Is hard enough as it is for an ex-felon but it will be even worse if the few tools for successful re-entry are taking away. Help curb the recidivism rate. We are people too and deserve the chance to succeed.
