Show your support for the continued existence of Edinbane School's nursery class. The nursery is a vital part of our local primary school. Edinbane is a thriving community and the school itself is a focal point of our village. Edinbane Primary School and its nursery class have received good inspection reports and are highly valued by the local community. The nursery is fully equipped and there are nursery teachers in the local area who would be keen to work there. Without the nursery the continued existence of the school is in doubt, and the viability of our village as a place to live for young families is called into question. The only alternative options that parents of prospective nursery pupils for 2013/2014 have been given by the Highland Council are at Knockbreck and Portree. In total this would result in a parent having to travel a minimum of 240 miles per week just to take a child to nursery and then pick them up at the end of the session. We feel that parents should have the choice to have their child educated in their local community. The Highland Council should be supportive of this and not seek to remove choice or seek to remove essential services such as education from rural communities. Please register your support by signing this petition. Thank you.
