Name: Cathy Chang on Mar 16, 2013Comments: Although we were first met with much resistance when we signed up our son for Chinese class at school, he has really been enjoying the class and has even surpised himself at how much he has learned. He has showed real concern when he heard about the possible cut and does not want to see this go. This is the most important class our children can take in order to give them the competitive edge they need in the global market. Please keep this going!Flag

S. government and/or corporations negotiate in trade and diplomatic talks with countries in the Pacific rim, especially ChinaFlag

Name: Jackie Wang-Dojiri on Mar 16, 2013Comments: Please continue the Chinese language program in PV intermediate schools. I was one of the volunteers helped PVUSD to set up and design the the FLAP Chinese program several years ago. I hate to see all the effort and time putting in the program will be all vanished. Chinese language is playing an important roll in today's world. There are approximately 1/4 of human population speaks Chinese. It's important for our kids to have the opportunity and platform to learn one of the most spoken languages in the world.Flag

He was disappointed. We should continue the Chinese classes in elementary, middle school and high school.Flag

It is a complex language to learn and my daughter has already been able to be fluent after 3 years from the middle school staff with no Chinese speakers at home. These students will be the future leaders of tomorrow and it is important for them to know language of another superpower in the world.Flag
