Comments: I believe the Law Centre should not be allowed to close in these difficult times and should be supported by Birmingham City Coucil.

Comments: the work law centres do helps individuals in trouble but also sorts out bigger problems for us all and saves society money. Letting BLC close would be a costly mistake. Good luck to the Law Centre and your supporters.

Comments: I am disgusted at the thought that Birmingham, as the biggest Local Authority, will soon be losing it's Law Centre. Law Centres are important in empowering the vulnerable and needy within the City, with advice, representation and guidance. These are the people who can least afford this service and need it the most!

Comments: It is absolutely vital that the most vulnerable in our society have access to legal advice at a time when their rights are being eroded and their everyday lives made far more difficult. The existence of the law centre will at least assist in providing people with a degree of support and is likely to reduce the further pressure on the local authority

Comments: Birmingham Law Centre is a life saver, and will be needed even more when Legal Aid is withdrawn from social welfare law cases in April. Why should the poorest people suffer when they are the people who need most help. Local councillors should serve the needs of all, especially the poorest in their constituencies. The Law Centre does that for the Council and ultimately saves the Council money by providing a much needed safety net.

Comments: Law centres do vital work in providing access to justice to the most vulnerable in society. They represent one of the best forms of "big society" activity, to use a government buzz word, by which local expertise and energy can be cost-efficiently channelled towards helping those who really need assistance.

Comments: this is a and good organisation helping disadvantage people who have financial difficulties. There are not a lot plases like this around. The people that run this organisation are volunteers working on there own time to help and support people.

Comments: The service provided the only legal aid accessible to me when I was on maternity pay and facing discrimination at work. Closure of such centres makes legal advice only accessible to the people who can afford it- this is totally unjust.

Comments: Birmingham cannot afford to lose its Law Centre. Especially not now, when the poorest and most vulnerable are facing even deaper hardship. It is unthinkable that our Second City cannot sustain a service which provides the most fundamental access to social justice.

Comments: With deep cuts to legal aid funding going hand in hand with a welfare reform agenda that makes life harder for the poorest and most vulnerable in our society, Law Centres are facing an uphill battle to maintain services. It's time for councils to take a more forward thinking approach that recognises the benefits that good advice and representation can bring. Good luck tomorrow!
