Comments: This centre is needed now more than ever. Don't let it close if you have any compassion for vulnerable people being made even poorer due to the greed of others.Flag -

Name: Claire Barton on Jan 10, 2013Comments: Birmingham Law Centre is an essential service to the people of Birmingham. Birmingham City Council is unique as it does not fund its Law Centre, The Council stands alone, as other Councils fund their exisiting Law Centres. 53 of which are situated across the rest of the country. The Commission for Legal Services, as funders, are launching new funding realms that will seriously undermine and adversely affect the operation of this Law Centre. I add my signature in support of this Law Centre receiving alternative funding to ensure it continues to serve the most vulnerable people of the city. Legal Help is delivered by a dedicated and very experienced staff team that offer a holistic range of expertise.Flag

Name: Martin Humphries on Jan 10, 2013Comments: BLC provides vital help for the people of Birmingham. Public services are being removed; the safety net of the welfare state is being cut like never before. The most vulnerable suffer the most, those with mental health issues, the elderly, children. It is claimed the money’s not there that there have to be cuts yet it was announced on Thursday 10/1 that there has been record production of Rolls Royces. Clearly some people have spare cash. The trades union PCS estimates threre is £120 billion pounds each year of uncollected evaded and avoided tax. If that tax was brought in there would need to be no cuts. I hope you build a campaign that reaches out to the people of Birmingham including the unions and other campaigning bodies such as “communities against cuts”. Good Luck you are defending services for the people of this city.Flag
