Save Autotech at Apopka High School
Greetings, Due to budget constraints the leadership and council at Apopka High School has decided to shut down the Auto Technology Program for the 2012-2013 school year. Because of the state of our current economy, people are keeping their vehicles longer and therefore the demand for mechanical upkeep is greater. According to many website reports, the demand for auto mechanics is extremely high. Why should this program be saved? By keeping this program available in the public schools, you are giving a child an opportunity to get a decent job right out of high school that may not have the funds to attend a college right away. By giving them an option to attend a technical program in high school, you give that child a chance to not only have a decent job with fare wages after graduation, they also feel like a contributing citizen in their community. The program also helps them further their career by showing them all the opportunities for future growth and continuing education as vehicles become more advanced. This petition will be sent via email and mailed by June 1, 2012. Please help support our effort to keep this program available at Apopka High School by adding your signature below. Thank you for your time.
