We, the undersigned, supporters of the Argyle Wilderness Preservation Corporation (AWPC), demand that the Duchesne County Commissioners oppose the Gateway South Transmission Project and the TransWest Express Transmission Line Project proposed to cross private real estate properties located in the Argyle Canyon area south of Duchesne. The Bureau of Land Management’s (BLM) preferred proposed transmission line routes through Argyle Canyon will decimate the use and enjoyment of the property and will cause extreme hardship and incalculable loss. Any proposed transmission line in Argyle Canyon is inappropriate and injurious to the private landowners, especially where taking their property is not reasonably necessary in light of other proposed routes which touch only property already owned by state and federal government, including the BLM.

The Duchesne County Commission has taken a supportive position of the proposed route preferred by the BLM currently, which is the route that directly impinges upon the properties owned by members of the AWPC. Again, we demand that the Commission immediately take an opposing position to any proposed transmission line route which invades private property in Argyle Canyon to the benefit of the Argyle Canyon community specifically, and to Utah private property owners as a whole.
