Flash Foods finally folded and agreed to redesign the parking layout to save those trees. They clearly realized that destroying our island for a gas station was a PR disaster they could not afford. We won this fight, but keep your eyes on that construction site to ensure they actually …

Some of the most beautiful trees on Amelia Island are about to be destroyed! The natural beauty of this island is one of our greatest assets. We are killing the proverbial goose that laid the golden egg when we allow business development to needlessly eliminate our trees. The Flash Foods convenience store and gas station at A1A & the South Fletcher roundabout is preparing to chop down many trees at this location, but some could be saved if we make our voices heard now. Time is of the essence, as work to clear the property has already begun. Let Flash Foods know this is unacceptable, as numerous trees could be saved if they slightly reduced the new parking area for their property. They cannot be allowed to destroy Amelia Island's trees! Please write to Flash Foods President, James Walker, at [email protected] and tell him his disregard of the value of retaining our trees will not be tolerated. Sign now and pass this email on! Do something before it's too late.

Flash Foods is still ignoring every email we send while they continue to tear down these trees for a parking lot. They think we will give up if they work fast enough but they are clearly underestimating us.

I live right by there and it makes me sick to see those machines out there already. Please listen to us.

Ridiculous. We dont need another gas station on this spot. Leave the trees alone for once.

Just move the parking spots back a few feet, its not hard. Why do they have to be so difficult?

The island is losing its charm so fast. Stop putting gas stations everywhere, enough is enough!

A1A is getting way to crowded anyway. We need the shade and the nature more than we need more parking.
