We hereby petition Council of The Corporation of the City of Windsor to reconsider the decision to close the Adie Knox Herman (AKH) swimming pool and approve its continued operation for the following reasons: 1. The city needs a community pool that serves the needs of its residents. The new aquatic complex may satisfy the needs of competitive swimmers and host international competitions but it does not satisfy the needs of the community. Do not sacrifice the wants and needs of our community to create an international identity. 2. Adie Knox Herman,s pool is near the Senior Centre located at Wyandotte Street & McEwan Avenue and it serves the City's many senior citizens who reside throughout the City (not just the west end) by providing fitness and social services that include aqua fitness classes. 3. We have the pool and it is well used. Listen to your ratepayers and do not take it away from them. We will be happy to meet with you at your convenience.
