Oceanic Citizens Against Sarasota Shark Tournament

This petition is to voice our collective concerns and demand that the Sarasota Shark Tournament is shut down indefinitely. Sharks are a crucial part of our eco-system. They keep our oceans in balance and contribute to the air we all share. Shark fishermen/women will say that killing only a few sharks a year does nothing to our eco-systems but take into consideration the fact that all the sharks caught at the tournament over the weekend of May 15-17, 2009 were no where near sexual maturity. Sharks take 7-8 years before they have a VERY limited number of offspring. The killing of one shark is one shark too many. Stand up for the air we all breathe and the kings and queens of the sea. Demand that the killing stops. Thank you.
