Name: Daniel Wood on Feb 26, 2011Comments: I strongly support the Telegraph Soccer Field, those who care after it, and the thousands of other San Franciscans (like myself) who share in its use on a weekly and/or monthly basis. The programs that this terrific non-profit has put together for youth and adults alike have been great in promoting healthy living, teamwork, camaraderie and other admirable social benefits. Please consider these factors, among others, when deciding what to do with the field. The field and the leagues associated with it are the product of hard work over time from a lot of people who have volunteered their efforts, and it has been an impressive ascent into a quality league and facility. Thank you for your careful consideration on this matter.Flag

Name: David Camargo on Feb 26, 2011Comments: I am a co owner of a small business in san Francisco and I would not know what I would do without having a chance to come out and enjoy soccer at telegraph field. I ve made long life friends through the telegraph pick up soccer and I still see new san Francisco residents coming to the park and making new friends. This field us very special to alot of people and in some way it's is true reflection is what is san Francisco is all about. There are people from around the world that get together and enjoy each other company via the telegraph soccer program. I ve made countless friend with origins ranging from south america, england, Italy, Asia, Africa , Boston and etc. If that is not a microcom of san Francisco culture and maim attraction then I don't what is. Not relocating telegraph field will be a major blow to the unique san Francisco culture and would be a major set back for countless of other people currently and soon to be living in san Francisco. Don't take away one of san francisco's true attractions !Flag

It is one of the few places left within city limits to play soccer and the city is in dire need of more places like this. Since it will be closed due to the America's Cup, it would really be a tragedy not to relocate it somewhere else within the city. I hope this is what happens.Flag

Name: Tom Scharfeld on Feb 26, 2011Comments: Leave it where it is and build more in parking lots along the Embarcadero! This district and it's surroundings (North Waterfront, Fisherman's Wharf, North Beach, and Financial District) are completely devoid of any place to play -- not to mention fields in other areas maintained by SF Rec are already in short supply, overbooked, and over crowded. This is the most accessible and popular sport in the world! We need more places to play, not less!Flag

Name: Ricky Pentella on Feb 26, 2011Comments: I have played with San Francisco Soccer at Pier 27 for a number of years. It is very disappointing to hear that they are losing their space and even more disappointing to think that they may not even be properly relocated to continue offering their service to the community. Spaces in San Francisco for physical activity are extremely hard to find. I hope that we can come to the proper decision to relocate the San Francisco Soccer so that the service may continue to benefit our community and friends. Thank you for your time. Warmly, RickyFlag

Name: Gregg Kowalski on Feb 26, 2011Comments: San Francisco Soccer is a great organization that runs leagues very well for a variety of people. The field is used mostly for kids and girls to play soccer at a young age. There are also leagues for men and women of all ages to play in. The leagues are run efficiently by the organization. There is a unique mix of players involved in these leagues that all come together and create a positive playing environment. In the 3 seasons I have played here, I have never had a problem with players from other teams and everyone is here to compete with class and have fun. I have had nothing but great experiences. Thousands of people would be missing out on this great addition to their lives. Please don't take our field!Flag

Name: Forest Dickey on Feb 26, 2011Comments: San Francisco Soccer is truly a unique and special place. The service and experience that they provide, combined with its location and unique form (6 v 6 futsal on field turf) makes for a truly special soccer experience in the Bay area. I have played soccer since I was 6 years old (31 now) in a multitude of leagues, formats and levels (college, adult men's league, co-ed,) and this league and format is one of the most enjoyable I have ever played in. The officials manage the games professionally and efficiently, keep a tight rein on any sort of trouble makers and generally make the playing experience what it should be, enjoyable. Combined with its affordability, availability to all ages, levels, and nationalities, it is certainly an integral part of San Francisco's soccer and overall culture. I would strongly recommend relocating this organization to the benefit of San Francisco soccer players and fans of all ages and walks of life. It would truly be a shame to lose this popular institution solely to make room for billionaire playboys and their expensive toy boats. Thank you. Forest DickeyFlag

Name: Victor Kane on Feb 26, 2011Comments: Telegraph Field I have played and enjoyed the Telegraph Field for a very long time. I think that we ALL (those who played there and the new players to the City of San Francisco wants to play there) will be greatly appreciate it, if the City of San Francisco will give/provide a new location/soccer field, speaking on the behalf of Little, Grammar, Middle, High School children and the adults alike. None of us wants to see if there is NO recreation place like a soccer field for all of us to enjoy and relax together after a very long and a very stressful day at school and work. By taking the Telegraph Field (soccer field) away from ALL of US, the City of San Francisco is taking a way the part of us, which we have cherished and endured for a very long time. Please (the City of San Francisco) don’t do it, or at least give us a new location where the families can enjoy and play together and being something special as the citizens of the greatest city in the world like San Francisco. Thank you for reading this message, Very best, Victor Kane PS: Actually, I moved to New York from San Francisco one year a go and I’m planning to come back by next year to San Francisco. I regard the City of San Francisco is my HOME, even though I wasn’t born there and didn’t grow up there originally. I speak very highly about San Francisco to the New Yorkers and the people I meet every day on the East Coast. I hope to continue to do so.Flag

Name: Gavin Purchas on Feb 26, 2011Comments: The San Francisco Soccer field at telegraph field is an excellent facility that regularly brings together teams of people to compete and get much needed exercise in addition to offering the opportunity to meet new people during the pick up soccer sessions. I request in the strongest possible terms that these important functions of the field be maintained by finding San Francisco Soccer a new home once the telegraph field is displaced. Warm Regards GavFlag
