Dear Loyal Patrons,

We were forced to close, temporarily, due to the permits and licenses needed for us to operate. There are many new rules & regulations in regards of operating a mobile food business, many of which we were unaware of. We will be closed for as long as it takes us to make the necessary changes in order to comply with everything.

The majority of the issues we have to fix are pertaining to the fact that we are classified as a Mobile Food Business. The only reason we are considered to be Mobile is because those in charge of Vanderbilt Hall and/or Harvard Medical School refused to let us connect to their plumbing. In response to this we had to get a mobile water tank and refuse tank. This has made everything much more difficult and we want to change it for the betterment of Sami’s.

MY GOAL:

  • Try to change the minds of those in charge so we may connect to their plumbing
  • Raise money needed to make it happen

REASON:

  • Being hard-plumbed makes permanent fixture
  • Permanent fixtures are easier to operate, concerning all the rules & regulations
  • The easier we operate the easier we can serve you

If you support Sami’s and want to see it literally become the landmark that we have become then we implore to sign our petition.

Sincerely yours,

Amy & Jou-jou

PS: since we’re closed we have no income. Many of the issues that needed to be fixed cost us a lot of money. We humbly ask for your assistance during this troubling time. Any donation at all is greatly appreciated. paypal.me/thejouj

Reading through the comments this morning brought me to tears because I realized just how many of you remember the food we served before the doors were forced shut. This momentum proves that Sami's is more than just a cart to this community. We are fighting to get back to the sidewalk that belongs to all of us.

We are just a few signatures away from hitting our first hundred names. Please send this link to a neighbor who loves our food so we can show the administration that Sami's is worth fighting for.

Sami's is the only good spot to grab lunch around here. This is ridiculous.
