***Petition restricted to endorsement by IIT Jodhpur students only*** This is to call for the inclusion of Sambar in the mess menu at IIT Jodhpur. In the previous years, South Indian dishes such as Sambar and Rasam have always found a seat in the mess menu of IITJ, alongside North Indian dishes, reinforcing the oneness, unity in diversity, and complementary nature of tradition, culture and cuisines of India. However, in the past few menus, it has been observed that this is no longer the situation, as a result of conscious or unconscious efforts. For a usual South Indian, rice, along with Sambar is his staple, and no menu would feel complete without at least an instance of such culinary tastes a week. Hence this petition is a call to include Sambar and dishes of a similar genre at least once a week in the menu, if not demographically.
