Name: Jennifer Curran on Nov 1, 2007ZIP code: 55105Comments: We would love to have a Trader Joes in the community. Currently we have to drive across Minneapolis to the St. Louis Park location (wasting much gas) to buy our groceries. They have VERY affordable, natural products. They would be a great addition!Flag

Name: Doug Hennessee on Nov 1, 2007ZIP code: 55105Comments: That intersection is in dire need of development. I live one block away and do agree that the traffic and parking are potential concerns, but I believe it's better to have people driving into and stopping in our neighborhood rather than simply driving through it, as happens now.Flag

Name: Jane Kirchhofer on Nov 2, 2007ZIP code: 55105Comments: I live just 2 blocks from this site, and I feel that a Trader Joe's would be a vast improvement for this intersection. Hopefully it would spur some improvements on the Northeast corner of Randolph and Lexington, as well. This is currently a very unattractive pocket of Mac-Groveland, and I would be thrilled if this project went forward. The only concern I have is the potential increase in traffic at an already busy intersection. This may need to be addressed/mitigated in some way. However, as long as the Ayd Mill connections to 35E remain open, I don't think it will be a big issue.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Nov 5, 2007ZIP code: 55105Comments: It would be great to bring new life into the area. Trader Joe's is a different retailer than standard grocery and Korte's would not be put out of business. If anything, it may force them to be better at their game and invest some funds into updating their location. They could play off the charming historic neighborhood grocer.Flag

Name: Kathy Kerr on Nov 15, 2007ZIP code: 55116Comments: If Trader Joe's came to Randolph and Lexington, I would probably do 90% of my grocery shopping at TJ's and Kortes. I would walk to both stores, thus feel like this is a livable city. I've heard that TJ's is an excellent employer that would offer well paying jobs with decent benefits to the area. I support appropriate development in the city. I would spend my money near my home and the city would benefit from the tax revenue.Flag
