Name: Eric Karlstrom on Nov 15, 2007Comments: Having been involved with this Lexam issue since our community first learned of it, I agree with all the concerns listed here. The bottom line is that the water resource here and the pristine nature of our San Luis Valley are much too valuable and too fragile for us to allow the oil/gas industry to despoil that piece of land/water that our creator has put under our protection. We as good stewards must try to act responsibly to protect our homeland from foreign invasion and desecration.Flag

The idea of allowing them to travel on this road with continuous heavy truck traffic and toxic waste is unthinkable. We will probably MOVE!! if this occurs.Flag

Name: David G Davis on Nov 17, 2007Comments: Is it possible to believe that after drilling through 14,000 feet of pristine and then piercing the earth's crust looking for volatile, poisonous minerals that zero contamination of that aquifer will happen Lexam needs to have a bond or penalty clause to pay for the immanent contamination of Earth, air, water and the lives and property of all who are affected adversly by this proposed action. That includes everyone downstream dependent on the Rio Grande. While they own mineral rights one must ask what right does that give to contaminate anything let alone an entire ecosystem. One need only look at what has happened in Rifle, La Veta and Trinidad to see the handwritting on the wall. Once contaminated the aquifer is dead or dying. Is money our only value Water is life and the amount of good clean water in this country and in the world is evaporating rapidly. Soon we will see wars fought over water more than resources like energy. Look around, it's already happeningFlag

By Designating the Valley as Green Zone, livlihood for far more than the limited funds to a few will develop, as this designatio will attract more people to live in the valley and businesses approapriate to the Valey. thanks you for your time HollyFlag
