Comments: This is just insane! We just were going for a walk in interstate park & were greeted with two big orange/red warning signs about hunting going on. We did a quick drive thru & found no one else in the whole park. our normal morning walk didn't happen out of fear for our lives.

Comments: Whenever something is done in a manner that is not open, I become suspicious. Our State Parks are a treasure and should not be jeopardized in this unnecessary fashion.

Comments: Small game, waterfowl and archery would be fine in the parks. Parks need to be managed for all citizens in a safe manner so all can use at any time of the year without a threat to their safety. Gun deer hunting would not allow this to happen. Many parks already offer some form of hunting and trapping in certain areas. Each park should have been looked at individually and determined what is working for that park now and what could be added without safety issues. Typical government slipping legislation in without any consideration or public knowledge!!!!!!

Comments: I camp in State Parks up through October. Allowing hunting or trapping in place designated for all to enjoy is a BAD idea. I pay for those parks through my tax dollars as well as anyone else. Why should my enjoyment be curtailed to the benefit of another group?

Comments: Please do not allow hunting in the State Parks for 7 months of the year. Bullets travel more than 100 yards. I pay taxes for use of the parks and do not feel safe if there will be hunting allowed. I XC ski, mountain bike, hike, jog and picnic in the parks and would love to continue to do so plus for future generations.

Comments: Major changes should be made in this bill to address safety issues. Park superintendents should be able to modify implemtation #168 hunting rules for their specific parks. Citizens who pay taxes for the state parks should be able to safely use the parks without being worried about hunting and they should not be restricted to small portions of the park. Please listen to the non-hunter citizens and bring common sense back to this issue!!!

Comments: DNR. Do a good job of inforcing the forest land protection agreements that require land be open to hunting and we won't need to open state parks to hunting and trapping. The parks serve the public in another way.....camping and hiking, exposing families and children to the outdoors. There is land enough open to killing sports.

Comments: This bill is a betrayal to those of us who love nature and believed that our parks would be a safe place to enjoy nature with our families and our pets. Our parks and the wildlife that inhabit it, are treasures to us and we want to see the wildlife alive, not suffering in barbaric traps.

Comments: This is a horrible Act!! My fear is that the corrupt government officials are trying to take our parks over and eventually privatize them as they did in Michigan for uses as environmentally damaging as mining! We cannot let our heritage destroyed for business interests and "vulture" capitalism.

Comments: Given the huge amount of acreage available for hunting and trapping on private land in Wisconsin (because of tax claims by the owners, among other things) and the presence of national forests in the state, I find adding the state parks to hunting unnecessary and distressing. I don't hike in blaze orange. I hike in clothing that is more suitable to the environment and more suitable to the mood of hiking or birdwatching. Kids wander off trails. Pets wander off trails. What happens when someone's pet or, far worse, child is injured by a trap? There are more than enough venues for hunting and trapping in Wisconsin -- far more than the number of venues for other kinds of recreation that take place in protected natural areas. Leave the state parks out of the business of hunting and trapping.
