Comments: I've worked with mental patients, and I agree something has to be done to keep staff safe. Staff have the right to know if a resident is dangerous.

Comments: This is so pathetic. If it requires 2 gas attendants to work in British Columbia then I think when the care workers work with high risk people they should have 2 as well.. makes sense to me!?!? If this trend keeps up, you will find yourself with a bigger problem. No health care workers, and high risk people roaming the streets.

Comments: It is about time we look into how we can save the lives of people who are there to help other people, the laws need to change and there should be more security measures taken to ensure ones safety. Bring back capital punishment.

Comments: I in full agreement that there should be 2 employees at all times, especially with high risk or difficult clients. I like the idea of a panic button, but by the time there would be a response, the death would probably already occurred. There needs to be more money put into the staffing of these homes. These group homes don't seem to be a high priority in our society, and the health care workers usually make much less then their counterparts in the health care industry, therefore these homes are running chronically understaffed.
