The petition
Our neighborhood has experienced much growth the
past 10 years. We have experienced many accidents
and near accidents, the vehicle count has seen a
dramatic increase per household (average 2.8
vehicles per resident) the number of children of
school age has seen a dramatic increase also
as 156 new homes now have been built in the adjacent new neighborhoood with an average of
2.8 children of school age. Clyde Miller was
required to add mobile units to handle the increase in elementary school age and high school age Children also increased.
All of the above has been in the past 10 years
however the new street, the addition of the 156
new homes with the 375 new children ages from
3 years to teenagers has had a huge increase
in the need for stop signs, and speed limit signs and crosswalks on East Mountview Blvd east from Bahama St. east to Espana Street to
the west.As there is no control of traffic for
this entire span, allowing the traffic to use this street at speeds approaching 50 miles per hour (Terrace Park is a School Bus Stop) and
it is also on East mountview Blvd on the north
side of Mountview Blvd, with no Crosswalk
This area of concern also includes installing
a street light on Dunkirk at the detention pond area that borders Dunkirk st. mid block from
Mountview blvd and Espana way. This area has
alot of vandalism/littering and presents a
haven for late night gathering of teenagers to
exhange drugs/liquor on a regular basis.I have
personally cleaned up this area of the various
forms of litter, wine bottles, liquor bottles
and just plain litter
By signing this petition, there is no increase
in property taxes as the above is furnished as
a need and is funded by current property taxes.
This petition (when required signatures are
secured) will be presented to the Aurora City Council, the Aurora Traffic Dept and the Aurora
Public Schools .
Thanking you in advance for your signature.
