Following several near accidents involving children attempting to cross Leeds Road on the way to and from school this road safety campaign aims to: 1. Create a safer route to school for children attending Oatlands School, St Aidans and St John Fisher, and 2. Reduce the speed of traffic travelling between the Leeds Road/Hookstone Road junction and Almsford Bank (traffic leaving Harrogate travelling towards Leeds). The aim is to secure further green man style crossings at the A61 Leeds Road/Leadhall Lane/Hookstone Road junction and improved illuminated signage to reduce the speed of traffic travelling between this junction and Almsford Bank.
