J A May | Ontario | It's one thing to teach our kids to keep their eyes and ears open as they travel in real time 'public spaces'. It's another thing entirely to teach our kids how to guard against attack in a world where eyes and ears simply cannot determine what is real, or another's sick interpretation of same. Let's establish this important day and let Kinsa help teach us all how to be safer in the I-space.

Allan McCullough | New Brunswick | This is an important issue which impacts all members of society, especially our children. I believe it is crucial that all levels of government show leadership by adopting a "Safer Internet Day" that they and all other sectors of society (private sector, law enforcement agencies, schools, NGOs, etc.) can mobilize around.

Colin Chisholm | Ontario |
Cindy Alexander | Ontario | This is the biggest problem on the internet today. Awareness needs to be built among parents and children in order to put an end to child exploitation online. "Safer Internet Day" is a proactive approach to informing the public of these issues and preventing more innocent children from being abused and exploited.
| 388 | Jason Deline | Ontario | The more awareness we can bring to these issues, the better. Anything i can do to help protect these kids, please let me know.

Anonymous | Ontario | The cause is noble. However to make it safer for kids to be on the internet (pardon me if it sounds extreme), law enforcement should do across-the-board 'clean house'... just like New York did with its petty crimes in the 1990's. New York is a much improved and nicer city to visit; and so would the internet if it goes down that route.
Anonymous | Ontario | Governments have the authority to enforce 'safer internet'. Politicians can talk, non-profit organizaitions can talk, forums can talk, media outlets can talk, etc. Also people seem 'committed' when they say they want to do something about it. But when called upon, will that person make themselves accountable? No. Should we have to go 'Dateline' or '60-Minutes' style to get the message out? No. Is KINSA is ideal vehicle for these safer internet? Yes, but it can only go so far. It's great to promote awareness but society should act and NOT talk about making the internet safe for children.
