Do a test, type in something you believe to be completely innocent and you'll quickly see that someone somewhere has managed to turn innocence into something terrible. My test word was Barbie!
Something that I heard of recently to keep our children safe was to ask them to write down all of their access locations like MSN or Facebook and put their usernames with their passwords and seal it in an envelope. Then sign over the seal so that no one can open it and tape it to the back of their bed headboard. If there ever is an emergency we have instant access to all of their "online relationships" and so do the police! My kids are full on teen agers who do not trust their parents (so to speak) with any personal info if they can get away with it and they thought it was a great idea. My children both have their data recorded and it's taped on the back of their beds, I now sleep better at night when they are late! |
