The petition

So far, 37 countries and over 100 not-for-profit organizations and corporations endorse "Safer Internet Day" where issues of Internet safety are discussed in Parliaments, in the media and among concerned citizens.

We the undersigned are calling on the House of Commons and every Provincial Legislature in Canada to declare February 7th, 2007 “Safer Internet Day” and to hold a public debate in order to raise the profile of this issue and provide a forum for governments, the private sector and law enforcement agencies to outline how they will work together to better protect children from on-line exploitation and being subjected to illegal and unwanted content.
