Comments: I was stationed in Europe for many years, am prior military, and see no reason why the US cannot institute stricter gun control. Other societies have strong hunting traditions, tighter gun control, and far less gun violence.

Comments: Military assualt weapons have no place in the public domain....Even the military keeps control of those weapons with the exception of being in active armed conflict, by storing them in an armory, where they are stringently checked in and out when needed for training exercises...you would not give a higher percentage of alcoho to a drunk driver to use....so hunters and sportsmen should only have access to these kinds of weapons under strict use....or not at all...

Comments: I support legislation to close the background check loopholes, and ban military style assault weapons and high capacity magazines. We have to make it safer for other citizens of this country to live, work, and play without fear of being shot. This in no way hinders responsibility people that own guns that enjoy hunting and target shooting. It does somewhat reduce the chances of people that are not responsible from purchasing weapons. Its not the total solution to the problem, but it is a start we need.
