We, the citizens of the Burin Peninsula, petition, the
Government of Newfoundland Labrador, and the Department of Health and Community
Services, to initiate and create a fully functional Safe Room at the Burin
Peninsula Health Care Facility. Such a
room will meet the needs of youth in this area, as it relates to de-tox,
addictions support for client and family, mental health supports, and allow clients, 16 years of age and under,
the opportunity to avail of in-patient services as determined by health care
professionals. All in-patient services to be implemented with all the
necessary human and physical resources put in place to ensure appropriate care
and consideration for the continuum of patient care.
