WHEN MY HUSBAND JIM AND I CHOSE LOST NATION NORTH CONDOMINIUMS TO LIVE, WE CHOSE IT FOR AREA IT WAS LOCATED AND IT BECAUSE IT WOULD HAVE OTHER CHILDREN THE AGES OF MY STEP-DAUGHTERS. MUCH TO OUR DISMAY, DESPITE RATHER SIGNIFICANT ASSOCIATION FEE'S COLLECT MONTHLY, THERE ARE NO PLAY AREAS FOR CHILDREN HERE. NO PICNIC AREAS. NO PLAYGROUNDS. NOTHING. BELOW AND DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF OUR BALCONY IS WHAT APPEARS TO BE THE REMAINS OF WHAT WAS ONCE A TENNIS COURT. IT IS SURROUNDED BY A RATHER DILAPIDATED FENCE. THE COURT ITSELF, CONCRETE IS CRUMBLING AND THERE IS STILL LOCATED IN THE CENTER A LARGE METAL POST IMBEDDED IN THE CONCRETE. ON THE OUTSIDE OF TH FENCING IS A SIGN THAT READS: "PLAY AREA"- "PLAY AT YOUR OWN RISK". WHY IS IT THAT THEY CANNOT PROVIDE A SAFE AND CREATIVE PLAY AREA FOR THE CHILDREN OF THIS DEVELOPMENT WHEN THERE ARE SO MANY CHILDREN HERE? A SIGN THAT SAYS "PLAY AT YOUR OWN RISK"? EVERY DAY I SEE THESE CHILDREN OUT TRYING TO FIND SOMEWHERE TO PLAY. THERE ARE NO SWINGS...NO SLIDING BOARDS..NOTHING FOR THEM. YET THE CONDO ASSOCIATION COLLECTS FEE'S MONTHLY AND IN THE PROCESS MAKING ENORMOUS PROFIT. SIMPLY NO CARING ABOUT THESE CHILDREN. PLEASE SIGN OUR PETITION SO THAT THESE CHILDREN CAN HAVE A SAFE PLACE TO PLAY. SWINGS AND MONKEY BARS, SOMETHING FOR THEM AND NOT EVERYTHING FOR LOST NATION NORTH CONDOMINIUMS. IMAGINE YOUR CHILD HOOD WITH NO SWINGS, NO PLAY AREA...AN EMPTY TENNIS COURT WITH A CONCRETE POST.
