Name: Kimberly Herring on Sep 2, 2003State: NCComments: This would help especially in the state I live in (North Carolina). I'm a 25-year old single minority female and had to move in with my grandmother because I had an old car that went kaput. I can't afford both living expenses and a car payment on my salary and my job is considered a professional career. While other non-minority women and men in my office are buying houses and having children and trading their hondas for mini-vans, I can't even afford myself.Flag

Name: Patricia Lauten on Dec 1, 2003State: WIComments: I support the Paycheck Fairness Act and urge all Wisconsin senators and congressmen to do the same. I have a client who was paid $3 to $8 less than males performing her same job. The disparity in women's salaries still exists - even in 2003. With more and more women becoming and equal, or in some cases only, breadwinner, the notion of women working for a little "extra" money to buy a new dress or new shoes is outdated. It is time our laws caught up with reality.Flag
