   Comments: My Russell Terriers fit the original standard of the flat broad skull. I was very upset when the standard was changed to a rounded head. I can't change the type of dogs I have and I also don't want to. I hope the UKC does the right thing for the future of the breed and correct the mistake they have made.

    Comments: As far as I know, the UKC standard was changed on 11/1/05 & I think that's what this petition is intended to reverse. If it was changed again on 1/1/06, it's not yet posted on the UKC site. I still vote to get the standard back to the way it was prior to the 11/1/05 changes.

    Comments: There is such a variance in the JRT's no matter how you look at it! I see some JRT that should be Russells... why do we register litters that are 1/2 reg JRT and 1/2 Russells.... It's a mess and I'm a proud owner/handler ....

    Comments: The Russell terrier is a dog that needs to have confirmation that allows it to do its intended job. The new standard does not allow for the Russell to this. it will actually imped its ability to do its job. The standard should not be allowed to be altered to fit one or two breeders breed type but rather the standard should follow the original intention of the founding breeders and their vision of the Russell type and confirmation.
