Comments: I will be anonymous here, as I increasingly fear repercussions from Board parents whose daughters are close friends with mine.

Comments: When I became a parent at Rodeph Sholom , I remember feeling that what made the school so special was embodied in Irwin Shlachter. He displayed warmth, dedication and genuine concern for evey child - he even knew every babysitter's name. He is, in fact, still connected to the kids in my older daughter's class - and she's twenty-four-years old! He is a truly amazing man, and although it doesn't affect me at all, I pity Rodeph Sholom for losing him and I find the board's behaviour and betrayal to be, quite frankly, disgusting. What qualifies them to be in that position and why do these people have so much power

Comments: I do not believe in all of the demands above, but I do believe that we need to get Irwin back for an extended leadership transition, at the very least. And certainly he deserves a dignified and appropriate farewell befitting a man who has given 25 years of his life to this school. The board's admitted failure to communicate in this important arena or importantly to communicate its vision for the future of RSS ,is at a minimum, disturbing.

Comments: I am deeply saddened by the events that the dismissal of Irwin has caused. This is the school that we joined 10 years ago because we thought it would teach our children a lifeling love of learning in an open, compassionate, ethical environment. This debate is anything but that. I feel the frustration of the well intentioned members of the RSS community who have been kept in the dark regarding such a significant decision. At the very least, interested, concerned parents should be given the respect to be heard and to hear why this decision has been made. I hope the board will realize that their responsibity to the current parent body is as important as is their responsiblity to the future ones.

Comments: Our ethics, and in fact our commandments, tell us that it is our duty to speak out when we believe something is wrong. I have great respect for all people associated with this petition, including those who have read it and declined to sign it, those who have signed it but with caveats and carve-outs, and those who have signed it anonymously. I believe any community that is strong can not only endure free speech but should welcome it.
