Name: Doris Settle Maxwell on Feb 24, 2009US State: NCZIP code: 27253Comments: During the majority of my tenure with the USEPA in RTP, I served as a Campus Liaison to NCA&TSU. I also reached out to other academic instituions in NC as well. I continue as a volunteer in the community encouraging students and others to consider the Federal Government as a career. I would not trade my experience and federal government career for anything. Any vehicle or venue that makes it possible for students to enter federal service is welcome. I wholeheartedly support the efforts of the Partnership for Public Service and have done so since Caroline Chang presented at the Southeast Federal Recruiting Council Annual meeting in Florida some years back.Flag

Name: William A. Nagle on Feb 24, 2009US State: ARZIP code: 72116Comments: The challenges facing our nation, and its government in particular, require that more and better-trained individuals be attracted to government service. Moreover, it has become necessary to reestablish the concept that working for the government can indeed represent a high calling. A prestigious program such as the Roosevelt Scholars Act would seem to address both concerns.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Feb 27, 2009US State: VAZIP code: 22311Comments: I applaud this effort to fund graduate level education to fulfill critical skills needs within the Federal Government. The graduate level School of Foreign Service already has students with skill set that would be valuable for the Government; however, actually getting a job in the Government is difficult at best. This program could help focus students on Federal employment and could help agencies better focus on this student talent pool as a pipeline.Flag
