Comments: After reading this I have to say that I totally agree with what you are saying. As an avid music fan and great believer in the talent that we have right here in Liverpool, there is no real coverage of it. I feel that the ECHO should be 100% behind helping our fantastic talent to have the recognition that it so rightly deserves.

Comments: Not sure what the Echo is like for this but if its anything like our local rags here in Southport then you have our sympathy and support. It appears as though it is a case of what is 'trendy' rather than what is any good and there are more bands that feel this way...

Comments: What a load of rubbish! the echo has better coverage now than ever before. i read it every night and have got into quite a few unsigned acts in the city specifically because they were recommended on the music page. yes, there are bigger artists covered - i enjoyed the bryan ferry piece that was in a while back and plenty more - but that's the mix. for the first time in living memory we have a music writer who actually likes music. if you can't see that you need to get a life!!!

Comments: I totally agree with everything that has been said. Whilst I understand that big names sell newspapers - our local talent will never be big names unless they are pushed. Perhaps the Ech could do a monthly pull out feature on local musicians and artists - similar to the one they do on business in the Daily Post

Comments: I would quite like to hear more about unsigned bands because the only way I become aware of certain bands is through bands I know personally and seeing other bands when I'm at a gig my friends are playing. Unsigned bands deserve more coverage!

Comments: We completely agree. The echo is rubbish for supporting local new music. The editor role for the page changed a few months ago. The old person was slightly better than the new one. But it is pathetic. We buy the echo religiously on a Friday purposely for the page but are starting to loose faith. We had a gig briefly mentioned once, but we sent them loads of stuff. This petition is spot on and we hope hope it has the impact it deserves and the echo pull their fingers out. Hudson Fall
