Save the "Roman Bridge" in Blackpill

The "Roman Bridge" in Blackpill, Swansea is a Grade 2 listed bridge and is piece of history. The Council in Swansea have allowed it to become so overgrown with weeds that the structural integrity is now threatened. The Council currently have no plan in place for the urgent work needed to preserve the bridge. We, the undersigned, believe that Swansea Council (as the owners) of the "Roman Bridge" should restore the bridge urgently, before it is too late.

1 year ago Comments: This bridge figures significantly in my childhood memories, as I passed it daily on my way to & from Blackpill School, the shop, the beach, and played on & near it with my friends in the village. More importantly, we have lost forever the Mill in Mill Lane (a few stones in an Indian restaurant does not replace that), and it would be a tragedy to lose such an important piece of history. Whilst Swansea council neglects our infrastructure and historical sites, in favour of their mindless "Boulevard" project (More open space urinal for the drunks of Wind St), this bridge should be made into a true historical site with access & information boards etc. I suspect the fact that a commercial development was or is planned just adjacent to it, may say a lot re this being so neglected by the Council.
