Dear President Obama, In recent days, there is a humanitarian tragedy unfolding in Syria. Two al Qaeda affiliated Jihadist groups, Jabhat al-Nusra and Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) are engaged in violent and horrific attacks on Kurdish civilians. As a result of the heinous attacks of these groups, tens of innocent Kurdish children, women and senior people were massacred in Tal Arn and Tal Hasel towns of Aleppo, just for their ethnic identity! Currently, hundreds of Kurdish civilians are being kept hostage by these groups, and their fate is still unknown. Atrocities of these barbaric groups are not limited to the Aleppo region. These Al Qaeda related militants, in the north of Syria, in Tal Abyad and Ras Al Ain towns in Kurdistan Region too, target Kurdish civilians; kill them by cutting their throats and beheading them. They also destroy Kurdish homes and rape Kurdish women with an undefinable hatred and animosity. Jabhat al-Nusra and Islamic State of Iraq and Syria target Kurds because they see Kurds as an obstacle in front of their filthy plans to spread Jihad in Syria and establish an Islamic state. Being a secular, moderate and pro-Western society, Kurds do not support radicalism and Jihadist ideas of these Al Qaeda affiliated groups. Kurds defend a democratic, pluralistic Syria on which Arabs, Alawites, Christians, Druzes will also live freely and equally. Now that the majority of the Syrian opposition, including the Free Syrian Army (FSA) yields to Al Qaeda, they fiercely attack Kurds to force them to subdue. Kurds are now resisting these barbarians with all they have. However, they need your support, and the support of the international community to be able to defend themselves and stop these notorious Jihadists. There is no doubt that if Kurds lose this fight, Syria will fall into Jihadist hands, and this poses not only a threat for the Middle East, but also for global security and peace. We, therefore, call on you to hear the scream of Kurdish children, innocent women and elderly men and women, and protect them from the brutality of Jabhat al-Nusra and ISIS; help Kurds to fight against Al Qaeda who is also the enemy of the entire world community! As the president of the United States, you know the true face of Al Qaeda and its dirty methods and ideology very well. You know how American people, in September 11 attacks, suffered a lot from these cruel and heartless barbarians. We, therefore, appeal to you help protecting Kurdish civilians from Al Qaeda brutality and support Kurdish YPG fighters to stop and defeat these Jihadists. Yours sincerely,
