There are numerous others who deserve far more than a pink slip that don't care about the students. Rogers fought for me, now it's my turn.

   Comments: Dean Decatur Rogers, Dean of the College of Engineering, Technology, and Computer Science at Tennessee State University, is an amazing and caring dean, teacher, and mentor. He offers a pathway for a great education and fulfilling future through his many scholarships, internships, and outreach programs. As a single mother, without the life-changing opportunities Dr. Rogers has made available, especially for young black men and woman, I would not be living my dream of working towards a Ph.D. in engineering at Vanderbilt University and at the completion, becoming a part of his faculty at TSU. Because of Dean Rogers' committment to excellence and students, we are shown by example how to give back to our communities, strive for excellence, and pave the path of success for the future generations to come. To dismiss Dr.Rogers as the Dean of Engineering would be a disservice to those students presently working toward their degrees and to future engineering students. Dr. Rogers must remain in his present position as Dean of the College of Engineering, Technology, and Computer Science at Tennessee State University..

   Comments: Dr. Rogers has and remains to be the pulse of the Tennessee State University College of Engineering. He has molded strong leaders and industry professionals while at TSU and he has more work to do. I sign this petition in hopes that university leaders will realize that the faculty members wishing to un-seat Dr. Rogers is doing so out of jealousy and inability to meet the expectations that Dr. Rogers not only places on them but also on his students. He has high expectations for his students. Why should he be punished for having high expectations for his faculty, even if they are content with being mediocre.

    Comments: Dr. Decatur Rogers' presence as Dean of the TSU College of Engineering, Technology & Computer Science is vital in regards to sustaining the pipeline of minorities entering Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM) fields. He has and still continues to be very instrumental in the many successes I have achieved in my career as an engineer. Dr. Rogers is a shining example of another TSU alumnus remaining committed to the idea of "to whom much is given, much is required." This is demonstrated by his concern for the well-being and success of his students in every aspect of life.

    Comments: I think this is wrong, because Dr. Rogers is a great man. He believe in students abilities and that is very rare in some individuals. I attended graduate school with many hurdles to climb. Due to the help of Dr. Rogers I made it through my first year and I would like to thank him for all of his support. (I don't think this is right).

    Comments: The single most important influence I recieved during my time spent at the College of Engineering at Tennessee State University was the overall mentorship from Dr. Decatur B. Rogers. "I didn't know" or "Someone should have told me" are excuses that I have removed from my life, which have propelled me to my current success in my career. The utilization of the problem solving methodology, and my presentation skills are my most valued assets. I was fortunate to have Dr. Rogers as an example of dignity and honor towards the engineering field, and I sincerely hope he continues to facilitate the things I learned from him at the College of Engineering at TSU.

Not only does he want you to learn book knowledge, but he goes out of his way to have ways that you can positivitely give back to your community. TSU's College of Engineering will NOT be the same with Dean Rogers and His AMAZING vision.

    Comments: As an alumna of TSU College of Engineering and Technology, I was shocked when I received the news that Dean Rogers would no longer preside over our department. He is the one teacher that I had that I could say that we actually had to learn and entirely understand the material to pass his class. His efforts were no less as Dean. The challenges he presented for us was to better us and he should remain in that position to continue to better our future engineers. I urge you to reconsider you decision and allow Dean Rogers to remain.

    Comments: Dr. Rogers has always pushed the students in the college of engineering, science and technology to provide excellence in all that they do. He developed many programs to ensure that the students performed well in their classes and developed critical relationships with multiple companies to give the students the opportunity to have a better chance at receiving internships and valuable on the job training. Not to mention, Dr. Rogers brought in over thousands of dollars in funding to provide students with other means of paying for their college education. Removing Dr. Rogers would be a hindrance to the college and university which is the reason why I am signing this petition to keep Dr. Decatur B. Rogers as Dean of the College of Engineering, Science & Technology.
