As many people have fought long and hard to name the East peak of Mount Sopris to "John Denver Peak," we have finally found a solution to the dilemma that will allow us to commemorate the semi-decent folk man without blemishing such a beautiful mountain. While Denver certainly deserves to share a name with the mountain, it is only fair that the name-changing party be the party that has existed for less time. By renaming John Denver to "Sopris East Peak," we can bring these two together for eternity. Sign this petition to support the legal name change of John Denver, his descendents, and the John Denver Foundation to "Sopris East Peak."
