A convoy of humanitarian aid to Daraa, Syria gathered in Ramtha at the border with Jordan on Monday 2nd May 2011 but was unable to gain permission to cross. Efforts will continue until aid can be delivered. See the FaceBook event page for more details. The residents there have been without electricity or communications since Monday25 April, and are under bombardment from their own military forces, targeted by snipers and homes raided by police and state security.

We call on the international community to support this aid convoy, to use their influence and contacts to ensure safe passage from the Jordan border - which is currently blocked - to Daraa.
