Hi All , Rizwanur Rehman worked as a Computer Graphics teacher in Kolkata. After schooling from St.Lawrence High School, Kolkata, he graduated in English (Hons) from St.Xavier\'s College, Kolkata. In a hitherto mysterious yet suspicious act of brutality, he was found dead beside the railway tracks between Dum Dum and Bidhannagar Road in north Kolkata on 20th September, 2007. The body was covered with injuries and his head was smashed. Rizwanur was legally married to Priyanka Todi, daughter of Amit Todi, an influential businessman. The marriage took place at the office of the registrar Sipra Ghosh on the 18th of August, 2007 without the consent of the bride\'s parents. Rizwanur was threatened several times and was repeatedly asked to divorce Priyanka by her family. Sujato Bhadro of the Association for Protection of Democratic Rights (APDR), who was approached by Rizwanur, said that a letter addressed to him by Rizwanur mentioned the names of top police officials like Gyanwant Singh (deputy commissioner of police headquarters), Ajay Kumar (deputy commissioner, detective department-I) and police officer Sukanta Chakraborty as the ones who threatened him. Soon after their registered marriage, the couple informed the police commissioner, deputy commissioner (south), the North 24-Parganas superintendent and other officers of their marriage. Amit Todi and his other family members arrived at Rizwanur\'s residence after they were informed by Priyanka about their wedding. After vain attempts by the Todi family to persuade the couple to part, they were summoned to the Lalbazar police station the following day. Despite protests by Priyanka and Rizwanur facing possible charges of abducting his own legal wife, she was forced to go to her father\'s house for seven days by a police order. Seven days had passed and Rizwanur had not heard from Priyanka. He was supposed to accompany APDR secretary Sujato Bhadra to Lalbazar Police station regarding the matter on the afternoon of 20th September. He was found dead on the same morning. The police have claimed it is a case of suicide but his strong character and the incidents leading up to his death paint a different and rather gruesome picture. It is a matter of great shame and disgust to note that lawful citizens face the wrath of such inhuman and corrupt actions. His (and Our) faith in the legal system should not be let down. It is our responsibility to ensure that justice is neither delayed nor denied to a common man. We insist the authorities to follow the matter up with concern and the real culprits be given their due punishment. We have summarized various incidents leading to the death of Rizwanur from various internet articles. We have not been in touch with Rizwanur for the last few years. This does not alter what we intend to say. There has been a series of incidents which lead to the death of the Rizwanur .We ask the state machinery to investigate and book the culprits . This is a crusade against barbaric behavior and a fight for justice.
