Walking Field Trips, avoidance of traffic accidents, avoidance of tragedy, comfort, an elementary school with over 500 students-including 120+ kindergardeners!!! Mrs. Jacob, please help us protect our children, protect our community, protect our safety!!Flag

Name: Abby Anders on Apr 1, 2010Comments: This is serious Ms. Jacob. We want our children to be able to walk and bike to school but the average speed during school hours is 50+mph. Please help us do what we can to put in a stop light. We honestly didn't think we would have to fight in order to have the county understand how important a light is in front of our school, especially in light of one of our children being killed last year. We thought this was a no-brainer. We hope you will join us in making our children safe. We do not need another tragedy to make the danger real.Flag

Name: Josh & Lin Freese on Apr 1, 2010Comments: Last year, a child was hit by a car and killed on the street in front of the school. Even though this sad accident happened when school was closed, a light would have at least slowed down drivers. As bereaved parents, we know what this child's family is going through. Please don't let this happen again. Install a traffic signal now. Thank you.Flag

Name: Susan Barnard on Apr 1, 2010Comments: The kids and their safety always should come first. Also, how would anyone (much less a parent) feel if someone were injured again, or worse? Arrive a few minutes earlier, drive slower and have safety precautions in place for everyone's best interest.Flag

Name: E. Yolanda Yslas-Thompson on Apr 3, 2010Comments: Dear Mrs. Jacob, Last year during Spring Break, there was a fatal accident in front of Riverview Elementary School. A fourth grader was hit by a car in front of his friends. There have been numerous accidents on Winter Gardens Blvd. in the last four years since my children started attending the school. The main reason is the high speed of traffic going up the grade or down the hill on Winter Gardens. I personally have been in near accidents on a weekly basis entering or exiting the school. Please take action on this matter to provide a stoplight near the school. Driving my children to school should be a safer experience for parents and not just arrive on a wing and a prayer. Thank you for your attention, E. Yolanda Yslas-ThompsonFlag

Name: Alphonsine V Jones on Apr 3, 2010Comments: Safty needs to come first! There are so many cars that do not slow down even when the lights are flashing. There really needs to be a crosswalk and maybe lights. This traffic around our childrens school is a scarry thing. Even though the city is putting in a sidewalk there still needs to be a crosswalk there is not one within a reasonable proximity for the children and parents to safely cross the street.Flag

Name: Crystal Shelton on Apr 4, 2010Comments: This school's program is attacking students from all over San Diego county to our wonderful town. Lets show them that we care for the safety of our students and put up a crosswalk and some lights. These children are our future lets give them the safety that they need to get to school so that our world tomorrow will be safe for us. Children learn what they live and if the live an unsafe school transport life what can we except for the future of our road ways.Flag

Some how I fail to see the logic behind that. These children are our future lets protect our nations most precious resource and give them a crosswalk and light.Flag
