Joe Wison | Destroying River Oaks Movie Theater would be a major tragedy as it continues to be a viable showcase for art films and is loved by so many Houstonians.

keith dunlap | our family has many fond memories at the river oaks theatre. marfreless and the river oaks theater are places we are proud to take visiting friends and relatives. i hope that someone has the sensibility to forego this redevelopment.
Anonymous | Typical Houston developer mentality. If this happens I'll never set foot on a Weingarten property again and I'll encourage everyone I know or meet to do the same.

Peggy Floyd | I'm a rare bird-a 4th generation Houstonian - this is a CRIME of the first magnitude --- DO NOT DESTROY ANY MORE OF HOUSTON'S HISTORY
Carlotta Mackie | I grew up with that theater and have been seeing movies there for the last 30 plus years. If it goes, it will be like losing part of my own childhood
Tina Clements | This would be detrimental to the River Oaks and surrounding neighborhoods. Developers need to get a clue! I do NOT support this!
Nick Chauvin | I'm flabbergasted that anyone would attempt this. If this is indeed true, I'll boycott them and tell all my friends to do the same. Outrageous!

Kathy Meyn | I temporarily live out of state but I grew up in Houston and lived there until 1 year ago - and plan to move back soon. One of the things I LOVE about Houston are places like River Oaks shopping center and the Landmark theatre! THis place shoule be getting a facelift - not be razed to put in another Barnes and Noble!!! Give me a break! I won't shop there nor will I patronize any of your other developments if you do this!

Ben Ferguson | River Oaks Theater is an important part of Houston's entertainment history and should be part of it's future.

Mara Van Nostrand | We need to keep some of the charm left from Houston's past. Please keep the Theater in tact!

Anonymous | Stop destoying any character that exists in this neighborhood...This is a charm factor that appeals to those who pay the high prices to live here. Most of all R.O theater is a treasure and we so badly need it. This is a disgrace to be allowed to demolish a strong sustaining element in our area.
Bruce Littell | I was leaving the Alabama Theater with my parents when we learned that the Japanese had attacked Pearl Harbor. Also, my mother did her grocery shopping at Weingartens on University Blvd., just down the street from the Village Theater which is no longer with us. Same is true for the downtown movies, Metropolitan, Majestic and Lowes. All of these old movie theaters held special memories. Leave us something! Weingarten should have stuck to grocery stores.
Tami Merrick | The theatre is a landmark and a piece of houston history. As a liscensed architect in Texas, it would be a crime to destroy it both the interior and exterior facade. There are other ways to build above the theater and leave it in tact and functioning.

Steve Hayes | I'm a native Texan and have lived in Houston for many years. I plan to return in the future.
Helen B. Wils | Demolition of the R.O. Theater would be a major loss to the film going public of Houston.
