I don't see the point of these people being sent to prison and given a criminal conviction, this is not because they don't deserve it as of course what they have done is wrong, however if they are given convictions then they won't be able to get a job easily in the future. Therefore it will just make problems worse for our country as they will carry on behaving as criminals! I think they should be made to help fix what they have damaged (without being paid) and that it can go on their cv's and/or be given a certificate of the new skills they have learnt. I.e if some people are helping to rebuild buildings that have been burnt down then they will have to learn how to do brick work, plastering, painting etc and can be given a certificate in the same way as colleges do. Basically I would like to see a bad thing turned into a positive. This has nothing to do with being a lefty! Its just common sense. This doesn't apply to arsonists, murderers and the sick individuals that forced people to strip off their clothes.
