The Riley Smith Hall is one of the most important resources Performance and other societies have in LUU. We want to be just as proud of it as a venue as we are of the events we put on there, however the backstage area is currently a rather unpleasant space to spend time, even when it is clean. The dressing rooms are exactly what we need; the facilities are all there (the mirrors, the clothes rails etc) however in order to make it a nicer area to wait whilst not onstage, they do need doing up. It's not a huge request, just a lick of paint on the floor, walls and around the windows and maybe some better lighting would make them much more tolerable. Of course, it has to be a two-way committment. As society members and those who use the dressing rooms, we must ensure that they remain clean in order to maintain the area. It really doesn't take much to sweep/ mop the floor and wipe down the make up counters after runs and put rubbish in the bin during performances. Of course, were the dressing rooms more acceptable in the first place, people would feel more inclined to do this.
