Previous comments comparing the Palestinian movement to that of the founding fathers of our United States was even more distasteful. President George Washington was in no way similiar to the terrorist Arafat. To say so is an insult to our First President. US patriots and revolutionaries did not blow up civilians and target children. They did not burn down synagogues. They did not call for the imposition of Christianity as the nation's religion as Islamists have done for Islam. Our Fore Fathers did not hold up child and mass murderers as heros to the American cause. Without question you owe the memory of our Founding Fathers an apology comparing them to a rag tag bunch of terrorists who hold nothing sacred and are quite willing to murder anyone in their cause which in fact is genocidal in nature- the elimination of Israel. And the Founding Fathers welcomed foreigners of all faiths and all ethnicities to our shores and did not condone a policy of Judenrein as do the Palestinians. I voted for President Bush twice and thought his choice of you as Secretary of State would perhaps bring a breath of fresh air to our stale Arabist Department of State. Never have I been as disappointed in any of President Bush's appointments as I am in yours. |
