Name: Caroline Daly on Nov 6, 2009Comments: Although I do not live in Rhiwbina myself I do visit and use the shops because I have friends who live in the village. I genuinely believe that if yellow lines are introduced it will affect businesses who will lose trade. In the current economic climate this would be an unnecessary tragedy at a time when businesses are struggling to survive the difficulties of the recession. Anything that prevents customers from accessing the local shops should be avoided at all costs.Flag

Name: Sybil Fowler on Nov 6, 2009Comments: Having heared the comments from the Rhiwbina traders prompted me to create this petition. With my profession I have worked in many cities across the UK and have seen how depressing empty shops are, and the ongoing negative impact it has on the local community.Rhwibina is such a great place to live and work in, for it also to become a ghost village with empty shops will be a travesty.Flag

Name: Emma Haynes on Nov 7, 2009Comments: As part of the rhiwbina community i believe that the local shops are an integral part of the community and will be greatly missed, so hope that there will not be any parking restrictions as it will only lead to more congestion in other areas, leading to more complaints outside residents properties.Flag

Name: Paul Ballard on Nov 8, 2009Comments: I own one of the shops in the Village, and am very concerned about the proposed Double Yellow Lines. This proposal is supposed to be for the improvement of traffic flow. If the lines are put down, they will do nothing to improve the flow of traffic, as Blue Badge Holders will still be allowed to park on the lines for up to 3 hours, so traffic flow will be no better. However business will be worse off as a result, possibly forcing shops to close. Come on Cardiff Council, please do the job properly, reduce the width of the pavement, create a parking bay. THIS IS THE SOLUTION, NOT YELLOW LINES.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Nov 9, 2009Comments: the parking is difficult enough - i use the village only about twice a month - each time spending quite a bit of money - without the available parking - which is at the moment quite awkward anyway - i wouldnt botherFlag

Name: Fran Aherne on Nov 9, 2009Comments: To lose the community of independent shops in Rhewbina would be a great lose to the local people many of whom are elderly. Local shopping areas are the life blood of places such as Rhewbina looked beyond the need for double yellow lines. Rent and rate increase are inevitable but to have empty shops because the increase is beyond what the proprietors can afford is short sighted on the part of Cardiff City CouncilFlag
