Name: Joanne Connors on Sep 18, 2007US State: FLWhy do you want RFK Jr. to run for President: Bobby, They tassered a UF student today for asking a question of Kerry. Yes he was a bit excited, on a tangent-- asking Kerry why he conceeded so quickly. We wonder how the press has become so docile-- watch the tasser video and its not hard to see now not "delving too deep" maintains the status quo. Shame on Kerry, for not asking UF police to step back and not asking the student to calm down, for not diffusing the situation and worst of all for not realizing how robbed some of us feel. I made calls for him so sure that after the 2000 Florida debacle Democrats would win and once again I saw my candidate back down and accept defeat. I want someone who won't back down, I want someone who will fight, my children deserve a hero in their time. The time is now Bobby, it falls to you.Flag

Name: Eileen Millick on Sep 25, 2007US State: NYWhy do you want RFK Jr. to run for President: Robert Kennedy is a great human being and a patriot. He believes in social justice, fairness and honnesty. He can be counted on to independently evaluate and do what is best for the people and the environment. He is not afraid of the people. The values he represents are connected to the people. He has vision and will move the people forward in a direction of peace and justice. I am truly concerned about his safety due to the powerful and regressive forces that control our government. However, in my opinion, we have never needed him more.Flag

Name: Michael Anthony Markus on Oct 26, 2007US State: ORWhy do you want RFK Jr. to run for President: Let's face it. Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama are moderate conservatives running against extreme conservatives. Neither of them will bring any real change to this country, Neither of them have the strength to hold a line. They will compromise and compromise until the end up just short of what the Republicans would do anyway. The other Democratic candidates don't have a chance to win. And whichever Republican wins the primary will be the same as all the ones that lost. So who do I vote for Someone who will never get enough of a following to win Or someone who I basically would never support if I had an honest choice in the matter. Or, you could run. If you were to run, your name, and your legacy could garner enough strength that you could win, AND we could finally vote for someone who we can trust to work for us and not betray us as everyone else has. Please run. If something doesn't change in this country soon, I will have no choice but to follow in my ancestors footsteps and seek a new beginning in a new country, where I can be free. Because we are no longer a free nation. Please help us reclaim our country.Flag

Name: Mark Barranco on Nov 11, 2007US State: NYWhy do you want RFK Jr. to run for President: I'd like to see sanity restored to the office of President of the United States. It's time for us to again have credibility and respect on the world stage. While I love Hillary as a Senator, I'm not convinced by anything she's said thus far that she should be President, and just winning the nomination is not enough. The Republicans would love to see her win the nomination because, I believe, this country will not elect a woman as President. This leaves us Rudy, and he scares the hell out of me. Ideally I'd love to see RFK Jr run as an Independent but I believe a 3-party national election will just divide & conquer the Democrats, and again we'll be stuck with Rudy.Flag

We need RFK jr at the helm to guide this ship (America) and get it back on course. We need someone who is honest and is not afraid to tell the truth. We fresh blood in Washington and not the same status quo of politicans promising the moon and the stars to get elected and never deliver on their promises to the American People. We need someone who has a good record on fighting for the enviroment. These are just a few of the reasons why support drafting RFK jr for President.Flag

Name: R.F. Smith on Nov 23, 2007US State:Why do you want RFK Jr. to run for President: I was only 9 when JFK was assassinated. As I grew older, I became a life-long admirer of your 35th President and, indeed, the whole Kennedy clan, although I am Canadian. In my opinion, JFK was the one notable US president in my lifetime; JFK was the one who with the proper world view, and the courage to try to make effective and positive changes. Both JFK and RFK had genuine and inspirational leadership qualities. I have no doubt RFK Sr. would have been elected president in '68 and would have proven no less stellar a leader than his older brother was. The Kennedy family, so far as I am concerned (and many others around the world, I'm sure, feel the same), have the best interests of ALL mankind at heart. The Kennedy's, it's evident, see the big picture beyond America's borders with clarity. Had JFK and RFK lived and served full terms in the Oval Office, I'm convinced this world would be a far better place today for all mankind. The sad fact that every president in my lifetime has had to conduct some damned war is so telling about America's current wrong-headed, (essentially hawk-controlled) foreign policy; it seems these conflicts often serve only as proving grounds for the war industry's latest creations...not as a basis for real peace and progress in the human condition, worldwide. WW2 was justified - Vietnam and all subsequent conflicts generally were not. Eisenhower, in his final address to your nation as president, warned against the 'undue and unwarranted influence of the Industrial-Military complex'...that worthy hope ended with a bullet in Dallas and then another in LA. JFK's very last executive order, I understand, was to begin the withdrawal from Vietnam; it would have eventually saved 50,000+ young American lives! Sadly, the hawks, and big business generally, appear to be steering the agenda in the States and conflicts like Iraq will always be inevitable in that climate. In fact, I doubt that 911 would have occurred, had JFK and RFK not been murdered (due to a legacy of enlightened foreign policies). I believe RFK Jr., like his family in general, possesses the same qualities and wonderful spirit his uncle and father possessed as well as the great, public service ethic that his uncle, Ted Kennedy, continues to demonstrate. I sincerely hope that RFK Jr. will consider running for president. The world needs to put the morass of the Bush years behind them and hope the US will again elect a leader actually worthy of your highest office. Yes, by all means, please run, RFK! (your nation sorely needs some real leadership again) -RF Smith PS - And by the way, I dont know how or why it was ever considered proper, but the optics of a leader of the free world being a former CIA director ...(and then later, being led by one of his idiot progeny)... just seems wrong. There ought to be a law against it, since the CIA is (if not entirely, then at least, substantially) loyal only to itself and its world view. I imagine neither Jefferson nor Washington would have thought a former leader of a secretive, intelligence agency a sound choice for president. PSS - and while I'm at it, it's also just plain wrong that Nixon's name was affixed to the plaque that adorns Apollo 11's LEM launch platform standing on the moon - by all rights, it should recognise that JFK was the leader who set that truly great achievement into motion. Indeed, the Peace Corps (an example of right-headed, not right-wing, foreign policy at work)...the whole lunar landing as a short-term national goal (and the space program in general) being worthy venues for competition, technological development and national spirit...the avoidance of WW3 over Cuba and Berlin...and preventing the hell that was Vietnam were just a few of the worthy achievements of a president who wasn't even allowed to finish his first term!! The promise of the JFK presidency (and the RFK presidency that would have been), needs to revisited - the world desperately needs more leaders like they were!Flag
