It has come to my attention that the Maryland Board of Physicians is now conducting a full investigation into the apparently deceptive license application filed by Mr. LeRoy Carhart in order to practice medicine in the great state of Maryland.

     I want you to know that I fully support your investigation into Mr. Carhart’s past -- because I believe it will uncover some very unsettling facts about Carhart and his blatant disrespect for the law.

     For instance, in his home state of Nebraska, Mr. Carhart is already under criminal investigation for tampering with fetal sonograms in order to falsify the age of the babies he’s targeting in the womb. Employees have also indicated through their sworn eyewitness testimony that Dr. Carhart is guilty of controlled-substance abuse -- rendering him unfit to perform surgery.

     Furthermore, Mr. Carhart apparently misrepresented his new practice in Maryland by saying that he is an emergency room physician and a university professor. The truth is, Carhart has not had an affiliation with a hospital since 1987 (24 years ago), and he was stripped of any formal duties with the University of Nebraska in the late 1990s.

     What’s more, Mr. Carhart conducts his risky late-term abortions in Maryland without having hospital privileges.

      Taken together, all of this seems like adequate grounds for the Maryland Board of Physicians to immediately revoke Carhart’s medical license and send him packing.

     Therefore, I highly endorse your efforts to protect the health and safety of the citizens of Maryland -- as well as women from across the country who now come to Maryland seeking Mr. Carhart’s late-term abortion specialty.

     It would be a grave injustice -- and a public embarrassment -- if Dr. Carhart gets away with deceiving the Maryland Board of Physicians.
